Ukrainian Forces Push 12 km into Russian Territory in Surprise Offensive on Kursk Region.
On Friday, Ukrainian forces, along with the help from NATO pressed Russian forces. It is the biggest cross-border attack ever made by Ukraine, since its conflict with Russia. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that “Russia brought the war to our land, and it should feel what it has done…. Ukrainians know how to achieve their goals.”
As of today, Ukraine holds almost 1,000 square kilometers of the Russian Territory, according to the Ukrainian Military Chief.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “Ukraine tries to destabilize the Russia by ground and air attacks; Ukraine will get a worthy response.”
The governor of Kursk region, Alexei Smirnow, said that almost 28 settlements have been disturbed, 12 civilians have died, and almost 122,000 people had to leave the region.
However, it’s been almost 3 to 4 days but Russian forces are still struggling to push Ukrainian forces back to the Ukraine.
To date, almost 18- Ukrainian soldiesr have been died and almost 320 are injured. Russia is sending reinforcements to the Kursk region. Although many sources are claiming that Ukraine has gained a major foothold in the Kursk region.
