Punjab Government Approves, Imposition of Trash Tax

The Standing Committee on Finance and Development of Punjab has approved the imposition of trash tax on both rural and urban areas. After approval from the CM Punjab, it will be sent to the municipal committee, and they will implement the tax.

Below are the details on how much you have to pay.

Rural Areas:

1. Residential:
   • 5 marla house: Rs 200/month
   • 10 marla to 1 kanal house: Rs 400/month
2. Businesses:
   • Small businesses and shops in villages: Rs 300/month
   • Medium businesses: Rs 700/month
   • Large businesses: Rs 1,000/month

Urban Areas:

1. Residential:
   • 5 marla house: Rs 300/month
   • 10 marla to 1 kanal house: Rs 500 to Rs 2,000/month
   • Larger than 1 kanal house: Rs 5,000/month
2. Businesses:
   • Small businesses: Rs 500/month
   • Medium businesses: Rs 1,000/month
   • Large businesses: Rs 3,000/month
