President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will pay an official visit to Pakistan from July 11 to 12, 2024, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During his visit, President Aliyev will meet with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to a Foreign Office press release.
To improve bilateral collaboration, the two sides will hold broad conversations on topics of mutual interest. Several agreements and memorandums of understanding are scheduled to be inked during the visit. The visit of President Aliyev demonstrates the two countries’ strong collaboration and leadership-level dialogue, according to a statement.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, and Ilham Heydar Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, attended the SCO summit meeting. During the session, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proposed the establishment of tripartite institutional frameworks, notably in the economic and investment sectors, to strengthen trilateral economic and commercial cooperation between Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
