This morning, a failed Israeli Air Force (IAF) airstrike in southern Gaza resulted in the death of Lt. Shahar Ben Nun, 21, and injuries to several other IDF soldiers. The missile misfired due to a technical issue, hitting a multi-story building where IDF forces were stationed instead of its intended target. The IAF has confirmed this malfunction is unprecedented, as their airstrikes are usually very precise.
Israeli forces have become so tired that they have started hitting their own people. This clearly shows that they are under so much pressure from Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and other armed groups who announced that they will take a combined revenge after the killing of the political head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh and military operation head Fuad Shukr of Hezbollah. Hezbollah has been targeting Israel continuously for many days.
On August 18, one soldier died and another got seriously wounded by an airstrike by Hezbollah in northern Israel. Today, on 19 August, in another strike in northern area, 5 people got wounded, including one who was fatally injured. Earlier today, reports surfaced on the internet claiming that Hezbollah obtained pictures of Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence using a small surveillance drone that evaded Israeli air defense. The IDF did not dismiss the reports, stating that they might be true as the images could have been taken by a small drone.
