During a routine night training mission in the Barmer sector, an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 encountered a critical technical issue, forcing the pilot to eject. The Air Force reported on X that the pilot is safe, and no loss of life or property was recorded. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.
Officials confirmed that the fighter jet crashed away from residential areas around 10 p.m. Images from the crash site showed the jet engulfed in flames. The police added that the MiG-29 fighter jet crashed during the training mission in Rajasthan, with the pilot ejecting safely. The Air Force noted that the jet suffered from a “critical technical snag.”
