Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, stated in a press conference in Islamabad that after cabinet approval, the government would move a reference in the Supreme Court to impose Article 6 on former President Dr. Arif Alvi, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri for alleged breaches of the constitution. Tarar emphasized the government’s stance against foreign funding, dissolution of assemblies, relations with terrorists, disruption of IMF agreements, and attacks on the military.

In an incident, on April 3, 2022, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri dismissed the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, citing it as unconstitutional under Article 5.
