Colonel Khalid along with two of his brothers abducted from Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan, KPK. He was there to attend the funeral of their father Master Haji Ameer Khan. They were abducted by TTP, an armed group which is doing terrorist activities in Pakistan. Initial reports claim that they were taken to the Lundi area after being abducted from Kulachi.
The colonel is not a retired officer, he is a serving officer in the Pakistan Army. He got abducted from a mosque. The Kulachi police have confirmed the incident; however, senior police officials have neither confirmed nor denied the incident.
