A local activist of Pakistan People’s Party was shot dead by an unknown suspect in Korangi area of Karachi, after which the alleged assailant was caught by the mob present on the spot and severely tortured to death. Zaman Town Police said that 30-year-old Noman Abbasi was shot and killed near Dhobi Ghat in Korangi on Wednesday morning, but one of the assailants fell down from the motorcycle and was caught by the local people. He was beaten to death. Police said that not only has the identity of the dead alleged shooter been identified, but his fleeing accomplice has also been arrested later.
The police arrested the absconding accused Shiraz Razzaq after conducting raids in different areas and recovered the motorcycle used in the murder of the PPP worker from his possession.
Tawheed Rehman SSP Korangi Police said that the arrested accused has ‘confessed’ to killing the PPP worker due to ‘personal enmity’.
