Israel Launches Largest Military Operation in West Bank, Including Air Strikes: At Least 15 Palestinians Killed, Many Injured
Israel launched its biggest military operation in the West Bank on August 28. This operation, as stated by Israeli authorities, is to find out the hideouts of Hamas and other militant groups. Several videos surfacing on the internet show that bulldozers are also used in this incursion. Sewage systems and water systems are getting damaged in this operation.
At least 15 Palestinians have been killed in this operation and dozens got injured. Israel also arrested many from the West Bank. Palestinian officials said in a statement that children were among those detained since Israel’s military launched its large-scale operations in the occupied West Bank at dawn on Wednesday.
The statement by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said the number of those detained could rise as the Israeli raids continue, as reported by AlJazeera.
It added that the bodies of some of those who were detained and later released bore “clear marks” of “torture and abuse”. This operation is mainly happening in Jenin and Tulkarem areas of the West Bank. A large number of Israeli army personnel are currently present in these areas.
