The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called off its planned rally in Islamabad today. Initially, authorities had canceled the event citing religious protests in the city. However, PTI leader Asad Khan Swati later announced that the party has voluntarily canceled the rally out of respect for the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat religious parties’ protest.
This marks the third time the rally has been canceled, despite previous court orders allowing PTI to hold the event. Schools in Islamabad remain closed for the day, and roadblocks are in place across the city.
