Russian President Putin kisses the Quran presented to him during his visit to Chechnya’s new Mosque.
Russian President Putin visited Chechnya on 21 August, where he also visited the new mosque built by the Chechen government. Putin was accompanied by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and Mufti Salah Mezhiev, the head of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Chechen Republic.
He was presented with a gift of a Quran, which he kissed. The video went viral on social media, with many individuals praising the Russian leader for demonstrating reverence towards Islam and its sacred scripture.
