A citizen of KPK who returned from Saudi Arabia is suspected of having mpox (formerly known as monkeypox). It is the first case of mpox diagnosed in Pakistan for this year. On Wednesday, WHO declared mpox an international public emergency, and advised measures to stop its spread. Yesterday on 15 August, a case of mpox was also diagnosed in Sweden.
According to the details from Health Ministry, a citizen travelled from Saudi Arabia was suspected of having mpox. Ministry has taken his samples and sent them for proper testing.
