One of the Pakistan’s most selling car brand, Suzuki, has shut down its production unit in Karachi for an unprecedented period of time.
The spokesperson of the Pak. Suzuki Motors said, our CKD units and other spare parts have been held at the Karachi port for 45 days. He said we are paying in billions to the port demurrage charges. By closing the production unit, it is also causing losses to the government in terms of taxes.
There’s a growing demand for the government to implement the Auto Policy 2021-26. This policy implementation could potentially alleviate the industry’s challenges and revive economic activities in this sector.
