The Islamic Center Hamburg was under investigations for several months over its alleged support for Hezbollah. Hezbollah is marked as a terrorist group by German government.
Today several police officers raided the Imam Ali Mosque, locally famous as The Blue Mosque operated by IZH and found its connection with Hazbollah. After the Interior Minister of Germany Nancy Feaser announced that Islamic Center hamburg would be banned for propagating extremism and that the Blue mosque was searched by the police.
“It is very important to me to make a clear distinction here: we are not acting against a religion,” Faeser said, but just against a group accused of undermining the German state as well as women’s rights.
