Instability causes a country to remain in hot waters and nowhere even near to the shore. And one of the major examples of a country having an unstable fate is of Pakistan which is on the auto mode of instability in the recent years or if said historically right, it went into instability right after the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah died. Because there was no other individual who could fill the vacuum that was created after his death. Whether it be the Kashmir issue, the assassination of Liaqat Ali Khan, or the final nail in the coffin which came in the result of the partition of East Pakistan due to internal political strife’s, inequality, unequal opportunities to the Bengali people.
The instability in the country has caused ultimate destruction as the fate of the country. No foreign investments or projects are being done in the country so that our economy could improve, corruption is embedded deep into the roots of every institution, water shortage, energy crisis. These issues may not be only in Pakistan, they are undoubtedly present in other countries also but the main cause behind these issues taking a grip in Pakistan are the political instability caused by the internal political strife’s present in the country. There has never been a Prime Minister in the history of Pakistan who has completed his 5-year regime, instead, he is either ousted by the opposition by passing a vote of no confidence motion, or he is considered ineligible by the judiciary on corruption charges. Elections being rigged every time is a universal truth for Pakistan. It would be very honest to say that it is a truth left unsaid.
Political instability in the country causes the “Country to Malfunction” and the “Economy to Dysfunction”. The country becomes a ship that never reaches its shore but never even has the fate to even float in calm waters. Pakistan is a country that shares border with its neighbors that are most strategically going through chaos and change and are becoming a potential danger for America. And Pakistan is the country that becomes the easy prey to bait on to catch the bigger objectives of America’s demand. Using Pakistan as a third party America achieves all its objectives and if Pakistan refuses to become a puppet, America plays its dirty tactics to control Pakistan.
India on the other hand is far bigger in size and population as compared to Pakistan, but because there is no political instability in India and the ruling government has been present since 2013, India has been gaining a footing in almost all of the front-line fields and businesses and America does not object to anything. India does only because their economy and political hold is strong. There may be many issues regarding Rape, RSS movements against Muslims, poverty, farmer’s demands, Khalistan movement, but they all come to a stop when talking about a much bigger framework of moving a country through political means.
Pakistan is on the brink of destruction internally just because it has become on the auto mode of instability. After every election, a new emerging party runs the government and before completing their tenure they are ousted and the country plunges into political chaos again.
Pakistan has a strategic geographical location which causes the bigger countries to involve Pakistan in their nasty little games, causing further internal contradictions within the country and not giving the country enough time to even stand on its feet. This vicious cycle of instability can be broken off if Pakistan focuses more on its geo-economics, rather than indulging itself into geopolitics. Pakistan can shift itself from auto-mode of instability to auto-mode of correction if it starts taking baby steps towards recognizing its people’s needs.
Pakistan is a state with individuals having a lot of untapped potential and it won’t be false to say that Pakistan is the Caspian Sea to South-Asia. It has no weaknesses except for the fact that Pakistan itself drowns itself into self-pity. It is the first Muslim country to become a nuclear state even when there were countries who did not wanted Pakistan to became a nuclear power. So, the question lies in the buried truth that if Pakistan became a nuclear war state amid the restrictions and sanctions by the West in the times when America was a shining star, why cant Pakistan now come out of the shackles of America, which is now a star whose shine is fading away with China and Russia in the race to rule the world?
