On a weekly basis, inflation in the country increased by 1.28% while the overall annual rate of inflation reached 23.59%.
The Bureau of Statistics reported that the prices of 29 essential commodities increased in a week. This week, 5 goods went cheaper, while 17 items remained unchanged. In just one week, tomatoes were 70.77% more expensive, and the average price of tomatoes in the country reached Rs 200 per kg.
The prices of products that have increased include tomato by 70.77%, flour by 10.57%, dry milk by 8.90%, diesel by 3.58%, petrol by 2.88%, pulses by 2.87%, dal by 2.86%, chicken by 2.40%, LPG by 1.63%, garlic 1.54%, lentils by 1.10%, and sugar by 0.93%.
